Hey everyone!
Sorry this has taken a little longer to appear here, I've been chastised by people who don't have the memory of a sieve that I haven't updated here and now that I've worked out how ot access the edit part again here we are wiiiiith a christmas present for you all!
AND!

(Click the PredationA0.07 file for the latest!)
That is Predation Alpha 0.07, a present from myself and Byful to you all this Christmas!
We hope you enjoy, Byful has put in a ton of work getting the new engine
up and running and I'm pleased to say the golden retriever is fully
implemented and available for your entertainment!
To get him to trigger the attack to down Amber you need to be within
swinging distance of his can, or alternatively you can press Q at any
time to down Amber and see the downed animation for each enemy a little
easier that way.
Also included is sound now! Where it counts too ;) if you're not a fan
of that I'd suggest muting the game, as I've not put a mute button in
for that yet, but that leads me to the next thing.
Now that this version is complete and the engine's base mechanics are
all whirring away nicely, Byful's going to step away for a little while
and focus on his own stuff for a bit while I crack my knuckles and get
deep into this engine he's built up for me!
This means I'll be adding new bits and pieces as I familiarize myself
and will release some hotfixes and updates to the game to include some
things you may notice aren't currently there; things like the cellphone
pause menu, the destructable drinks machines, the kickable toilet paper
(yeah I spent time doing that) etc. and I do plan to have that all back
in, *especially* the TP, and with the awesome work Byful's done here
we're on much firmer ground for the future, I feel ^^
This also means production is nearly on the move again! Byful has pulled
the heavy load most of the way, now I'm here to snatch it at the end
point and take all the glory as we move on into the future of entirely
new content and levels instead of this samey business. We've been in the
subway for a while now eh?
I want to thank you all for your patience in these past few months; I
won't get all mushy, those of you that have been following a while will
know the skinny by now and I won't repeat it, but suffice to say I
wouldn't be releasing this today if it weren't for your unwavering
support and love and enthusiasm, and I honestly hope this little suprise
gave you a smile and a little extra christmas cheer; you guys are
awesome, here's hoping 2019 is the year this gets crazy!
...crazier!
Merry Christmas everyone!

14/02/18: NEW DEMO! PREDATION ALPHA 0.03!
Hey everyone!
So, turns out I'm not dead; all things considered this is quite a plus, and since it's a day of romance and caring I thought I'd get everything as best tied up as I can and show you some of the progress I've made!
Here's the link:
https://mega.nz/#!NXxn2IgS!jQ4ACzRq.....SQkwOP3BNxC2KM
So, far as new stuff goes:
-Added Female Enemy (L1F1)
-Added Pharmacy area
-Added interactive vending machine
-Added some sound effects
-Added Underground rooms
- Changed sprites for the dog's floored sex animation
- Changed code for Kicking and Punching
- Changed layout of level to make it less compact
There's lots of other smaller things and probably some stuff I've forgotten, but give it a go and take a look for yourselves ^^
Oh and I only NOW realise I've uploaded a version with the hitbox for the Kick animation still visible... *sigh*
Well in a few days I'll be putting up a hotfix, soon as I've made some progress with the sketches and sprites for all of my lovely backers on Patreon!
---
A couple of things to note with this demo; I haven't worked on the Menu system to include a sound effects and music volume bar yet, mostly with the focus on the new female enemy I just didn't look into it properly! Also, seeing as I'm apparently running an old or 'diet' sort of Game Maker, I can only have one audio channel, I think! So I'm going to have to find a way to be able to mute sound without music, music without sound, etc etc. And I figured it was a better thing for me to show off the work I had done rather than wait another month to get that done.
Speaking of which, I do apologise everyone, I know it's been quite a while since anything concrete; my way of making this thing is so scattershot sometimes there's 5 or 6 errors that I'll 'just get sorted real quick' that turn into weeks of new invented problems and such; I'm sure it's become evident I'm not the most organized of people, but at least I can show everyone I've been doing cool things in the interim ^^
There's probably a lot I've forgotten but I won't prattle on too long, hope everyone enjoys and that it's not -too- riddled with bugs; remember this is really more of a 'look what I did!' rather than a 'look how well I did it!' sorta deal right now XD
That's it I think; the Pharmacy right at the start is the new area that you'll be able to find the new enemy in, and beyond that I added some stuff to make it more like a level/game.
Any comments or questions, suggestions, what ever you want, I'm happy to hear!
And also happy valentines everyone, hope the day went the best a day like that can go for you!

Hey Everyone!
Goddamn it's been a while since I posted on this; my apologies to anyone who uses this as a reference point over the other places I post, being perfectly honest after my desktop computer crashed and I had to wipe/reinstall windows on the whole damned thing this place just slipped my mind in favour of the things I'm more used to like FurAffinity, or ULMF.
Still though, it's a new year and I plan to give this site a bit of a spruce! A few things to announce that have happened in my absence from here; first off, here's the link to the most recent demo of Predation:
DEMO 07/12/17:
As you can see its slightly old now but I've been busily working on the update since my little christmas break!
Another thing of note now is that I have a Patreon account!
https://www.patreon.com/HornedLizardStudios
Which I plan to update in itself, though for now there's a bit of a bottleneck of animation I've gotta push through before any real progress can be made on other stuff.
I may well just put revamping the site on the back burner again afterward considering the adult animations I've got to do, but I'm assuming people on here have all heard of the game from one of the two outlets I've posted info for it about, so I hope you can get up to date that way!
If not, these are the two places for updates:
https://www.furaffinity.net/user/sephra/
https://ulmf.org/forum/hentai/under-construction/12881-i-m-making-a-furry-game-or-trying-to-anyways
That's all for now I think, apologies again for the stagnation of this site, but do rest assured work has continued steadily and I have plans to carry on long as I can!

Hey everyone,
Nothing too much to report lately; work has been steadily going on, mostly focused toward the adult animations as I know that's what people are chomping at the bit to see! As such the Anthro Rat is well under way in terms of the sprite animations and CG, the feral Rat, The Female Office Worker, etc. etc. Are all getting attention, and despite the newfound difficulty of such complex and fluid motions (for a self taught person such as myself) I think I'm managing to get in a lot of fun details like boob bouncing, clothing shifting etc. and learning to do so quicker!
...Things haven't gone as fast as I'd like them to have though, it's true; life has gotten in the way a bit more than usual, family health issues and such, and more recently one of my three cats who'd been with us 10 years was hit by a car, and I only found him a few days after the fact. I'm sure fellow pet and cat lovers will attest, things like this are kind of akin to losing a family member in some senses, and it's been pretty hard on the family to lose him. Pretty hard on my work ethic too, if I'm perfectly honest.
But things are still shaping up! The lucky thing about these sprite works is, you don't necessarily need to 'feel' it like you do when drawing something, you know? If I'm in a mood to draw things go pretty well for my skill level, lines sync up, work gets done quick; but if I'm not in the mood I cannot make anything go right, no flow whatsoever, as I'm sure a lot of you can relate to. But sprite animations are more...mechanical in nature. It's all mouse/keyboard stuff, all reliant on anatomy and positioning, and while a good mood and a good flow is very helpful in getting these sprites done, it isn't a detriment as such for me to not be in an artistic mood because I can simply focus on the mechanical element of the process.
Anyway sorry, rambling, I hope this gives some clarity as to why there's been relatively little progress of late. I'd like to keep as full a disclosure about my work and my life as I can while doing this so I can show you guys my commitment to getting this done and making a career out of making fun games for people to enjoy; that does of course mean letting you guys know when I don't quite step up to the mark like I should be, but I hope it shows my commitment to keeping you all in the loop :)
Thanks everyone, more soon to follow, and as I say a lot of it will be the 'juicy' parts of the content so with luck it'll be worth the wait :)

Wow, time really flies and all that!
I wanted to address a couple of things I've been thinking about in regard to the game, just so as I've gotten them out there; it may be evident by now but I'm not all that good at sharing the info regarding development as I really should be!
As work has trundled along and I've been speaking to some of my friends regarding the game, it occurred to me that I haven't really given out any story or context within the game, and that's something people might quite like to know; as such I've been writing out some little narrative bits and putting what I have in my head to paper (or word document, whichever). I'll be putting these up in a new section of this site once they're done to give everyone a taste of what I see the narrative being, so keep an eye out for that.
This also led to a discussion about the nature of what I'm creating, and whether I was really taking into account the fact that, at the end of the day, the game I'm creating isn't really going to be appreciated for it's plot or setting primarily; my view has always been that it's better to have for the sake of immersion either way, but this does run the risk of alienating one side of the audience to cater for the other, no matter which decision I make.
So my solution for now is this: I'll actually be making two separate versions of the game, one including all of the adult features that I know people are looking forward to and one simply containing the story and non-adult gameplay for those who would just like to see a furry platformer.
Now this does NOT mean that I'll be devoting more time and attention to one than the other, and as far as my intentions for coding and content go there's no real change in what will be done other than the 'grapple moves' initiated by enemies will be health-damaging ones rather than smutty ones.
The narrative and reasoning I've set up for this thing occuring to the player character can actually support both these versions quite well, I believe anyway, and I think with this direction in mind I can assure people that the focus I've always had for the game - namely to make it a fun, tight, interesting platformer - isn't going to be marred in anyone's eyes by the inclusion of sex and adult stuff.
I understand that some people may be put off even by the idea that an adult version exists, but I suppose I'm not going to be able to cater for them in the first place. I've found something I really want to do in my life now in making video games independently, and I can promise this isn't any sort of altering of quality or intent for the game, or indeed and kind of scaling back of the adult features I intend to add. This is intended as more of an assurance to everyone that my focus here is on making a good, fun game that can be enjoyed on its' own merit as well as having the option to enjoy some good adult fun in the same environment, if that's your thing.
Thanks a lot for reading, this decision has given me some great ideas to implement further down the line, but for now work continues steadily toward the first playable version of the game!

Hey everyone,
More animations completed and going at a steady pace; pretty soon I'll be working on the level design, which promises to be slightly more boring than the character animations but significantly less difficult, hopefully!
I'm going to take a bit of time to make this blog look a bit better, adding in a few sub-pages and showing off animation progress that way; with luck this will also solve some issues I've been having with linking images if I upload them directly to here!
As such, check back here some time if things aren't up already, but the site should be a little more interesting to those wanting to check out the game and what's going on with it of late!

Hey Everyone,
Apologies, I'm not really used to posting progress reports, especially on any kind of schedule; just a short one for today to let you all know that I've pretty much completed the animations for the player character insofar as they'll be needed for the alpha of the game; couple of things left to do like pained animations for when you get hit, finishing off the masturbation animation (fun thing to say right there) and other little additions to get it all at a bare-bones level of completeness.
For the most part what I've been focusing on this month is the animations of the enemies you'll encounter; in the first alpha demo I plan to have 4-5 different enemies, depending on how much I get done and how quickly I'm able to put everything together.
The enemies will be as follows, bar any major changes:
1: Female Office Worker - This will be one of the weakest enemies in the game that doesn't qualify as just a nuisance enemy (more on that in a sec); having not quite escaped the gas, this poor Wolf office worker is dazed and ineffectual but can still pose a problem if Amber doesn't keep her guard up. Attacks with a swipe of claws, very zombie-like.
2: Male Subway Worker - Another ineffectual enemy, shambling the halls of his workplace in search of a warm body to vent his growing frustration in; attacks with a lunging swipe, more powerful than the above but easier to spot the wind-up.
3: Feral Dog - This will be an enemy common to a few levels, wherever stray dogs would typically be found; based on a doberman, this enemy will attack with either a painful nip as he trots by, or by leaping through the air toward his victim; whether it merely hurts like a bitch or knocks Amber down will depend on her Stamina.
4: Mutant Rat - This enemy has been exposed to all sorts of toxins and chemicals over many, many generations living in the sewer; the result is a rat the size of a dog that under normal circumstances would be safely disposed of by sewer workers; the spread of the gas into the sewer system has sent the creatures into a frenzy however, looking for more than simple refuse and waste! He'll work in the same manner as the dog roughly, either biting or scratching Amber when she's too close or performing a charge attack to knock her down.
5: A Nuisance enemy - I'm not entirely sure which I'd rather go with just yet, but you'll all be familiar with the idea; one hit kill, not a bother on its own but potentially irritating in groups, and very embarrassing to be defeated by! I plan to have quite a few of these in the game, each with their own adult animations, but for this first enemy I can see it either being a normal but infected rat, a giant (relatively speaking) cockroach or other similar insect, or even a mutated slug or silverfish!
Animation has been going very well for all of these enemies, bar the 5th as I haven't decided which to include yet and probably won't until it becomes more pertinent to do so (which means as soon as I've figured out what I want, basically xD); currently the Feral Dog has most of his animations complete, bar his defeat animation; the Anthro enemies both have walk cycles and attack cycles, as well as halfway completed adult animations, and initial sketches have been made of most of the nuisance creatures you heard of above. I plan to include every one I mentioned in the game by the way, I just have to decide which I'd like to show off first.
That's it for now friends; if you're a member of FurAffinity please hop on over to my page and take a look at what I've got so far, as most of the animations I post places are uploaded there in the first place!

28/01/2017: Steady Going
Hey Everyone,
Just a small update, not much in the way of show-able progress this past month but I'll be posting up some of the completed animations as I get them done!
I've not mentioned before on this blog but the way I tend to work on these animations is very piecemeal, and mostly falls down to what I want to work on on the given day; so for example I've got 5 player animations sitting about 70-80% done, all of which I've been working on simultaneously for a bit of variety.
That's the cool thing about this project that I find, in that I love being creative but the only way I can stay doing so is by changing up what type of thing I'm creating; so animations one day, illustrating the next, working on coding after that etc.
But I'm happy to say that the full set of Amber's animations is almost complete, for testing purposes anyway. There's going to be a lot of ways to navigate the levels so as you can imagine there are a lot of different forms of movement to animate! Most recently the animations for running, climbing ropes/pipes/chains, and crawling have been completed, with climbing ladders/swimming being the last couple to go.
I realize that, realistically, that isn't why most people are here, so worry not friends, a new H-Animation will be in the works pretty dang soon, to be featured in the demo ^^
Hope everyone's having a great day, thanks for reading!

23/12/2016: Merry Christmas!
Hey everyone,
first off, season's greetings and all that, hope everyone is having a happy time regardless of how you choose to celebrate the season; any kind of celebration to beat out this cold, dark time is okay with me!
In regard to the game itself, the coding aspect is coming along nicely (minus a few bumps in the road) and among other things I've now worked out things like walking up and down slopes, hanging from ledges, crouching to avoid attacks and even the 'struggle' system that those who've played similar games will be familiar with!
Most of my time is spent getting toward the first Demo I hope to put out for you all, to show what I want the game to be like and get some feedback for how everything works. This will of course take a lot of time, as I plan for the demo itself to be the first level of the game (or at least some of it), so as well as the focus on the mechanical aspect of the game I've been hard at work making background assets, floor and wall tiles, miscellaneous debris and clutter, and of course all of the character and enemy animations that will make up the core... 'interest' of the game xD
With that said, I'd like to show off my latest effort, but will link to it to avoid any kind of NSFW unpleasantness on this site; not too familiar with the rules yet:

That there is a concept picture of what I hope the game over CGs will look like, only they'll be a bit better as I'll have hopefully been in the swing of drawing for a while at that point.
What with the many, many assets needed to get this far into development I've neglected my Tablet and stylus, and I thought I'd make a proof of concept before I fully got my hand back in action (lol) and started producing them properly.
You won't get to see them all of course; gotta save something for the game! ;)
Anyway, Merry everything once again, and I will attempt to update this blog more regularly in future as updates begin to pour in at a faster rate.

Howdy!
Hello and welcome to the official development site for my adult game,
Predation is a 2D, platforming based RoR game, featuring Anthropomorphic characters, old school beat 'em up action, animated sex and CGs, and a story to tie the whole thing together!
Currently in early development, I'm working toward a playable Demo for everyone to enjoy and show off what I plan to make for the finished product.
I will make progress updates on the site when I can, but as the sole developer currently the whole life thing may get in the way; I'll be as frequent as possible though!
I will also be adding more pages and content to the site as I get used to the whole process, so expect more from this page soon; as it is this is more of a place holder, which makes me doubly thankful for your visit and for reading this far!
Here is the protagonist of this unfortunate adventure, Amber:
While out clubbing late one night in the metropolis she calls home, a mysterious noise rattles the dance floor and leaves the clientele confused and nervous; she and her friends decide to call it a night and head home, but unfortunately for Amber the route back will not be as straightforward as she had hoped...
A deadly mutagen virus bomb has detonated in central Creekfield, the blast wave stretching miles into the city and carrying with it potent, toxic mutagens. Most in the blast zone were mutated into puddles, but the majority of the city fell into the target radius. Horrible mutations, dastardly restructuring of animal DNA, and above all a numbing of the brain's higher functions, amplifying the base urges to unbearable levels, leaving only one fate for the citizens of this city: Predation.
---
Lucikly, Amber is not completely up the creek, rushing down to a train station from the strange pink clouds gathering in the streets, she finds herself alone until a subway employee pulls her aside to escape the inevitable abominations that begin to lurk the streets they once walked as members of society.
Will Amber escape the city and the monsters within? Dodge the terrifyingly effective Quarantine Response Department? Avoid a new life as a shambling shuffler? That's for you to decide!
With enemies like the infected citizens of the city:
Mutated animals:

And the fearsome Q.R.D:

It'll be no easy trip for her!
---
As you can see, the game is still in early development, and creating all the sprites myself is a time consuming process; as such I don't want anyone to get the idea this is coming out any time soon; I don't work with deadlines!
I've also made the decision not to go down the Patreon route, at least until the demo surfaces; personal preference, shareware generation, etc.
So feel free to comment, sign up for email alerts and all that, let me know how you think the game is shaping up!
There'll be more on here before too long, don't worry!
